Of course not, vm! But your needing to post it, and post it, and post it again - that shows you care in spite of your denials.
I don't have any problem with what people can see for themselves.
I reckon you do really.
I've not denied your accusation of dishonesty because I don't care what you believe and nobody whose opinion I do care about is questioning my honesty.
LOL Many a venal politician and bent cop could boast the same.

Had you spent all your days torturing political prisoners in some dark dungeon, you would not have sunk to the moral low you have reached now.

If a ridiculous exaggeration and an ironic confession are enough to establish innocence, you'll have a great career at the bar, chuckles.

Re: Imma be a Professional Thinker
So Chuck thinks "Such an argument would seem to justify even the worst kind of lynch law" is the same as saying "Sock Puppet is as bad as a lyncher", and Null is impressed.
Anyone else?

Re: Imma be a Professional Thinker
Well, I for one think you are being a bit of a self-righteous prick. I don't know if this is just who you are or if you are just reacting to some slight and would not normally engage in prickery, but you sure come across as someone who is a prick by habit rather than as an exception when you start this self-satisfied twaddle on a simple thread where someone is announcing what they intend to study. Anyone with a bit of self respect would say nothing - or even better! Wish them luck. Nothing better than to show superior manners to anyone you have a conflict with.
If you have some sort of beef, I suggest you take it where this is appropriate - say the thread where you reckoned VM was dishonest or whatever and make your case there.
Doing it here makes you look petty, self satisfied, possibly jealous, and a bit of a prick.

mickthinks is also a hateful anti-Semite, which is, I think, why his interactions with me tend to be so hostile.

Ohhh goody - what flavor? Are we talking full-blown world conspiracy anti-semite here or just garden-variety bigotry?

Okay, you are criticising my timing rather than the validity of my criticism. I can't think of a better time or place to raise legitimate doubts about vm's fitness for philosophy than in the thread where he declares that he is going to be one.

Hard to say. Mostly just garden-variety name-calling and refusal to acknowledge the historicity of the Holocaust. He's been pretty evasive about his membership in the BNP, but it might just be because I was the one who asked.

No, I am criticizing your behavior and the occasion on which you chose to display it, as it shows poor taste and pettiness. If you were to announce that you just found out you are going to be a parent, it would be poor taste for me to comment on my perception of your fitness as one. No matter what my opinion of your fitness as a parent is at that time, it is prickish behavior.

LOL only on this board are holocaust-deniers garden variety bigots.
BNP? Surely not! That is so... so lame! So feebly crypto-racist, and so flaccidly half-arsed - they tend to weakly hide their racism behind half-assed pro-white people arguments.
Is this true Mick? Is you a BNP-er? And the Holocaust? never happened, or made out to be a big deal by the Jews to get us to feel sorry for them?

I disagree. If you thought there was something I could do to about it why would you let mere taste dictate your action?
Is this true Mick? No, it's just Chuck.

vm stated in the OP that he has no plans to be a philosopher. He is taking classes to learn for it's own sake, and yes to get a degree which can be professionally beneficial regardless of what that degree is in.
Having a degree in history doesn't make one a historian automatically, does it?

Because it would be very rude, and inappropriate. Not to mention self-satisfied and more than a bit arrogant.

Re: Imma be a Professional Thinker
Quite simple - you act like one. I have absolutely no problem calling you that - I deem it an appropriate response, unlike the simple example I showed.
If there was a thread where you would make said announcement and I would tell you I doubted you had the sense to do it well, then I would be a prick - it is not the time and place for something like that.
Are you autistic, or just having a bit of a troll?
