It says in the Dutch wikipedia that the word pindakaas comes from the Sranan (Surinamese) pindadokun, but this peanut-cheese was not spreadable but a solid mass which was sliced like cheese.

Interestingly, when I was a kid I loved crunchy -- the crunchier the better -- and thought that creamy was some sort of abomination. Now it's just the opposite.

Go figure.

Whole wheat toast, toasted well enough to be stiff enough for the treatment, but not dark. While still piping hot from the toaster, spread with extra chunky PB. The hot bread melts the pb and gets it nice and thin and spreadable, and still sticky enough to adhere the big peanut chunks to the toast. The trick is to get an even distribution of peanut chunks across the surface of the bread, without tearing up the bread, which is not difficult if the toast is done right.

Bananas are optional. But who wouldn't want bananas? :hotmoves:

Eat that mess while it's still hot, wash it down with a glass of cold milk. Boom! Breakfast of champions

As good as that sounds, it is much to healthy. Come on, bananas?

Replace those bananas with Nutella and then you've got a real treat.

The same but with an english muffin. The english muffing doesn't even need to be all that hot. Them english muffins is some tough bastards.

Also, cruncy peanut butter on Sailor Boy Pilot Bread (aka hardtack). That combination was a staple in the Inupiat village in Alaska where I briefly lived once upon a time.
