The null koan having the Buddha nature is really throwing me off here...
I am hoping I didn't do that wrong. It was hard for me to wrap my head around.
I was thinking that since my koan is based on half having a quality, and half of zero is zero, it would have the Buddha nature. Just like Crumb's first one did.

Maybe that will help.
I thought it had to be something like that, or a prohibition, but I can't find the quality in question... I'm probably going to be hitting my face on the keyboard when you reveal it!

AKHTBNI there are an even number of smilies and half of them have visible arms and/or legs.
That is correct! Well the even number part isn't really necessary, but the rest is gold. As originally worded: "A Koan has the Buddha nature if half the smilies have visable arms and/or legs."
ETA to spoiler, 'cause I don't know if I'm supposed to reason through it in-thread.
I dunno, we'd have to count the little floating nub hands in order for
to have the Buddha nature, in which case
has all smilies with visible limbs, and if the rule is "at least half have limbs" then
would have the Buddha nature, which it doesn't...
I wasn't counting the little nub hands.
gave me pause because of that, but if you watch during the crawl sequence his feet are attached to his body. Which makes them legs IMO. That made it count even with the nub hands. That one was a real oddity though.
