I'm so sorry, Shelli. :snuggles: Flint looks very dignified, and a lot like my kitty Marv, who we lost a couple of years ago.

I'm not so much on the edge of tears today. I just feel weighted down and defeated. Kinda like this :rarrow: :sadcheer:

I wish I could believe in heaven (with animals, but of course), but I can't. No matter how heartbroken and defeated I feel; no matter how badly I don't want Flinty to be dead.. gone forever; no matter how angry I feel at the cruel indifference of the biological cycle of life and death, no matter.. it's not possible for me to believe in a hereafter, even though it seems that it would be consoling to believe it.

They're gone. That's it. Just gone. And there's not a damn thing you can do about it. :ffsad:

Fucking sucks worse than the biggest donkey balls ever imagined.

Okay, on a lighter note, here are pictures of the living taken on the same day as the one shown of Flint. :snapshot:

From left to right:

Tanis (or Tanis-teh-manis), also 4 months shy of 14 yrs old but doing very well. Plumping up, as a matter of fact, and playful as ever. :catplay:

Kit (short for Kitiara), also to be 14 this year, also doing very well, eating well and playful as ever. :fallcat:

Tika (or Tika-shmika), to be 15 in August, her lovey, yet ornery self. She's not eating as well, but still eating and looking for laps to lay in. :catwave:

:catjuggling:

:qbatman:

I have a new pitbull and two four year old cats. The cats do not like this new four month old addition to the house.

How do I get the cats and the dogs together?

I want happy co-existence. I love my cats, I love my dog. I want them to love each other, or at least accept the co-existence of life in our house.

They've seen each other, scratches and barks have been exchanged. The cats have scratched his little nose several times. He's never bitten, but he sounds a bit vicious when he's been scratched.

I introduced my first dog as a puppy to the household when my cats were about 5 yr old. I had hoped for the same as you, but it was a no-go. I'm lucky in that I have a two floor house. My solution was that I put the cat's food and water upstairs and put a dog blocking gate at the bottom of the stairs. A year later, I added another dog to the household and two years after that, I added a third. A peaceful existence for all is maintained by the gate. There's kitty land upstairs :catglomp: and doggy land downstairs :dogglomp:.

We have a new family member, name of Gizmo. We went to a Super Bowl party at bey's aunt's house and they were like, "You like chihuahuas, right? haha! Now you have another one!" She's six months old. Ripley has been somewhat concerned but pretty welcoming so far. And this morning the new one went outside and pooped first thing like an old pro.

So sorry to hear that Shelli. Many gentle bear hugs.

Fiery... Cats will usually adapt to new animals, but it may take several months before they reach a detente, if not a peaceful coexistence.

You will still need to watch them closely and discourage any swatting that may lead to injury and expensive vet bills. You might want to separate them when you are not at home.

We have two dog beds, one big and one little, right next to each other in the office, and the dogs just use like whichever one they feel like using at the time.

But, just now--and this is not the first time it's happened--Zsa Zsa is sleeping in the little bed, Buddy comes up and puts his front paws in a small empty spot on it and just stares at her. She looks kind of sad and moves over a little bit, so he moves in, she moves back, and eventually he just cold fucking kicks her out and takes the bed for himself.
