Despite all the predictions, and a concerted effort to stop X, the platform is doing better than Space X and Tesla were a year into the business.

Speaking of Space X, listening to Elon talk to Rogan I caught something sinister. Elon was telling Joe why Space X can't ever move to another country. Rockets are considered ballistic weapons, so there is zero ability to disconnect with the US military.

Then he mentioned that a Starship can pretty much land anywhere. They can put one down exactly where they want, anywhere in the world. Which is true of course.

Then he casually mentioned they don't have to actually use the thrusters. And Elon chuckles. At which point I realized what he was alluding to.

If you can drop a 12 story starship anywhere in the world, at anytime, you don't need to use nuclear weapons. A starship full of high explosives is far more dangerous. Because that's a weapon you can use, no fallout, no radiation. No risk of an all out nuclear war in response.

Forget putting weapons on the goddamn ship. The ship itself is the weapon.

Of course you could also fill one (or a dozen of them) with drones and deliver them anywhere.

Jesus. It really is a brave new world.

If you have a Premium account, you can filter other accounts. I don't know about how the X juggles posts, but I can set it to only see responses from verified accounts.

As well as blocking spam accounts, and muting morons. It's pretty sweet.

Well for starters, think about this response to you. Right here on this forum. Your original post got two replies. And they were both from people you aklready "know" from here.

Yet the VAST majority of my followers on both accounts have never liked, retweeted, or commented on a single tweet I have made; 99% of the likes I get come from comments on other people's tweets, and even then I average about one like per tweet.
Your query on this forum went nowhere, and no interest in X (as Twitter) occurred. Until Elon tweeted about buying Twitter.

No, you don't "get it", you have no clue at all.

When it was Twitter, I posted maybe 3 times in 14 years. My account is, and always has been, private and you have to request to follow. Only followers can see my content.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to disagree with that.

Back to the important shit.

When Musk bought it I created a second account, open to all, and started posting. I'm followed by several real people, some of hom I know, and a fuckton of bots, scammers and whores.

Welcome to the internet.

Meanwhile, my private account still has 24 followers, most of which are verified accounts, and the others I vetted as real people before allowing them to join.

So how does X work?

It's a world stage (aside for China, which has it's own X, which is way better). If you are trying to get attention, good luck with that.

The wokerati that run Wikipedia refuse to change the name as well.

It's all about being petty and vindictive.

Which is ironic, but not unexpected. To watch the liberal/socialist/commie/woke mob rage against X because it allows free speech is pretty funny.

What appears in my browser address bar after I type in "www.x.com":

Does Musk not have the courage of his own convictions?

I just tried my Twitter login, not used since 2009. It still works. Obviously, I never really understood Twitter, nor all the hype about it by journalists.

I think everyone's being really nice calling it Twitter or Xtwitter, because despite it looking all cool with his illegal sign, X is pronounced Z, so without guidance a post is a zit or zhit.

Check out my Zhit on X.com!
A full page of Zits!
Come and see zhit at X.com!
Thousands of Celebrity zhits all free at X.com!

Seriously, come to Xtwitter and read my Xtweet, is so kind to this man.

I have been reading it as Xwitter. Pronounced shitter. :toiletdance:

I never even noticed the t in Xtwitter. Is that pronounced ex-twitter, as in former?
