There used to be a milk choc/hazelnut mousse one here I really, really liked. Don't think I've seen it in a while.

Yeah. White chocolate is a contradiction in terms. It should be called white fat.

Home made mayo > all other mayo ever, don't buy mayo, ever, it's bad when it's made to be kept in jars for weeks/months/years, just don't, ever.

It's not even expensive to make. seriously.

Yeah, but the vast majority of the time that I use mayonnaise, my whole point is to make something that takes literally less time and effort than getting in the car and buying a drive through hamburger. A sandwich or a single deviled egg (cold leftover asparagus + a deviled egg is the best).

I get that it's not too difficult, and I would totally do it if I were making some big thing, but my mayonnaise use cases are almost always the sort of thing where an extra two minutes or another dirty dish would be a dealkiller.

A single deviled egg? Jesus Christ, pea, I knew you were some kind of monster, but this is a horror of Lovecraftian dimensions.

NOW WHAT DID I DO? I don't even know what part you're mad about!

Is it the deviled egg itself, or is it just making one? Because here is the thing: I like deviled eggs OK, but they're one of those things for me that has a very early good to gross tipping point. One deviled egg with a pile of asparagus = nice. Two deviled eggs = OK, if I'm hungry and have a lot of asparagus. Three deviled eggs and now I'm getting queasy. And the alternative is to make a bunch of them, and then what? Arrange them on a platter, cover them in plastic wrap and put this big platter of deviled eggs in the refrigerator? NO. TOO MUCH WORK. ALSO WHY?

It takes me like a minute to make one deviled egg, and I only do it if I already have a hard boiled egg available.

I'm going to dig through your post history and judge your snacks so hard right now.

Obviously the latter. OBVIOUSLY. The fact that you would be confused about that only enrages me further.

I see the words and recognize them as English, but put together they make no sense at all.

Because there is no such thing as leftover deviled eggs. Not in the world of humans.

Dear livius drusus,

Yesterday, I had a dozen eggs plus a carton with one egg in it for some reason. And I do not like having odd numbers of eggs because it unbalances the carton and is stupid and weird.

So I decided I would make myself some scrambled eggs in order to obfuscate the fact that I was even making an odd number of eggs. And I didn't just want one egg, so I made three. IT WAS TERRIBLE AND I ALMOST DIED FROM TOO MANY EGGS.

I was queasy for most of the day yesterday, and I just now realized maybe it was because two eggs good, three eggs bad.

I AGREE WITH PEA (LOUDLY!)

Three deviled eggs is the absolute limit ANYONE WITH A FUNCTIONING STOMACH can possibly eat.

That's an odd definition of "functioning stomach" ya got there.

The limit to how many deviled eggs I can eat depends on the number I can sneak at the social function I'm at without having the host(s) look at me funny.
