Rome As You've Never Seen It
I was link-hopping, as I am wont to do, and came across an amazing gallery of photographs by one Adalberto Tiburzi. Most of the pictures are stunning, creative shots of Rome, but there are photographs from of all kinds from all over.
A lot of the pictures one finds of Rome are beautiful but predictable. As long as the photographer is competent, the subject pretty much sells itself. Adalberto, otoh, shoots the city (and everything else) like I've never seen it shot before.
Check out this collection of a fountain paired with Neitzche's The Night Song:
Or this Baroque stairway in the Palazzo Barberini:
Or these seasonal shots:
Honestly, there's barely a picture I couldn't link to. Give his gallery a browse. You won't regret it.

Hmmm...You're sure that the photographer wasn't inebriated? The camera angles are low and skewed. Too much grappa, perhaps?

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Che bellissimi fotografi! I remember that Baroque stairway in the Palazzo Barberini where I went to for a Renaissance and Baroque painting exhibition. It leads to a well-preserved 18th century apartment where a princess used to reside. It is a gorgeous example of the 18th century interior design and atmosphere.
The other pictures really make me pine for Rome something fierce.

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Hi, thank you everybody starting with Livius Drusus for the kind words about my work.
I have found this link via search engines looking for my name.
This site seems quite interesting, I'm happy of having become a member.

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Just use Babelfish!
"E' an honor and piaciere to see to you, Adal here. You have a greatest talent. Welcome to the FF!"

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Replace the first sentence with "it's an honor and a pleasure to see you here, Adal" and Babelfish is pretty much dead on.

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Wow, I'm so moved and touched by all these replies...
Yes, the Internet is an awesome tool when it comes to encounter people!
It has not been difficult for me to find ff, I just googled "adalberto_tiburzi".
Much more difficult for Livius to find me the first time, I guess (by the way, thank you for the Italian welcome, practically perfect ;-).
I am on vacation, I've rent an apartment in Capri (Internet connection included).
But laptop screens are not so good to fine-edit photographs, they change brightness according to the angle of vision. Good only for text.
So, I think I will take some photographic rest the next month and will go on browsing your site, and the Internet in general ;-)
Keep in touch!
Adal

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Oh my gosh, Adal, that's totally beautiful! Thank you so much for the gorgeous picture, and thank you for the lovely comment about FF in your caption. I'm really blown away.
Pardon my ignorance, but is the incredibly bright blue sky the result of a filter or something like that, or is that just how it looked when you took the photo?

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
Thank you for your interesting question Livius.
I could reply:
That blue does not reproduce the trivial reality of the sky as it was.
It's a meta-physical blue.
In the sense that it reproduces its Platonic idea, the "Blueness" as a mental entity.
You know that for Plato the real world is a "pale" copy of the Ideas.
In fact, to obtain that blue, I have enhanced "saturation" via software (no need to put physical (glass) filters before the lens in the digital era).
Feel free to ask me everything comes to your mind!
Ciao ;-)

* livius drusus laughs out loud.
That explains it perfectly, thank you. You should write more about your pictures on your site. I see now that we've been missing out.

Livius, maybe you are right.
But I'm not sure my site is the right place. People on PBase want to look at images.
And images belong to the realm of action, while speech belongs to the realm of ruminative thinking... two worlds apart imho.
I have placed some reflections on my profile page .
Oh yes, I know there are many Photo-Forums.
But specialized forums are full of unsatisfied and fustrated people.
Well,to be unsatisfied in (not only) photography is good as a general rule, but they try to solve their frustrations upgrading their equipment, instead of their brain.
And it's the brain that takes (makes) the photo.
So, I will never participate to a photoforum...
 (giggle)

Re: Rome As You've Never Seen It
I've searched the internet for my own name, but all I come up with are a lawyer in Alabama and a truck driver in Pennsylvania.
