At least one boy under the age of 16 was castrated to 'help' his homosexual feelings while in Catholic church care in the 1950s, the NRC reported on Saturday.
But there are indications at least 10 other boys were also castrated, the paper said. The claims were not included in the Deetman report on sexual abuse within the Catholic church published at the end of last year.
The paper says the one confirmed case concerned a boy - Henk Heithuis - who reported being sexually abused by priests to the police in 1956. After giving evidence, he was placed in a Catholic-run psychiatric institution where he was then castrated because of his 'homosexual behaviour'.
Jesus fucking Christ. Is there any country where the Catholic Church hasn't done some heinous fucking shit? Rape young boys then cut their balls off when they complain about it.

Pakistani acid attack victim Fakhra Younus committed suicide earlier this month, jumping out of a sixth floor window of a building in Rome.

Younus claimed that she was sleeping at her mother’s house in May 2000 when Khar entered and poured acid on her. Her 5-year-old son from a different man witnessed the attack as well, the Associated Press reported.
Pakistani writer and activist Tehmina Durrani wrote that Younus’ attack was the worst she’d ever seen: “I have met many acid victims. Never have I seen one as completely disfigured as Fakhra. She had not just become faceless; her body had also melted to the bone.”
Khar was acquitted in the crime. The AP reports that “many believe he used his connections to escape the law’s grip — a common occurrence in Pakistan.”

We all know it's important to outlaw same sex marriage, civil unions and domestic partnerships, but do we have a complete understanding of why it's so important?
There's a move under way in North Carolina to outlaw all that stuff via ballot initiative. A wingnut state senator by the name of Peter Brunstetter supports the effort. Everyone knows that lawful same sex marriages, civil unions and domestic partnerships pose a clear and present danger to religious freedom and traditional marriage, but, as Sen. Brunstetter's wife points out, the ballot initiative under consideration is also important "because the Caucasian race is diminishing and we need to uh, reproduce." So yeah. Denying basic legal protections is essential to preserving white people.

Entertainingly enough, no one can have same-sex marriage in North Carolina, even now. Maybe the knowledge that people can have same-sex marriage in other states is what's rendering all the N.C. white folk infertile.

Sanctuaries are full of the birds now the craze has faded after the release of the final Harry Potter film last year.
And it’s feared many more have been illegally released into the wild and will have starved to death or taken over territory inhabited by smaller wild owls.
There was a surge in demand for pet owls from fans who fell in love with Harry’s cute companion *Hedwig.
But the birds, which can live for 20 years, take a lot of looking after – and many owners have become fed-up of repeatedly having to clean up garages and sheds of their *droppings and feathers.
One rescue worker says she is now having to care for 100 owls at her sanctuary.
I think the greatest share of the hate ought to be directed at the people who sell owls as pets. That should not be legal, even in the UK.
