Deviled eggs are one of those things that, for me, go from delicious to gross pretty quickly. I can really only eat one or maybe two tops before the revulsion kicks in.

Man, back in Denver, we a couple of times went to this Italian restaurant near the house that had "All you can eat spaghetti and meatballs" nights. Thing is, the first plate would be delicious, but then, subsequent plates would start tasting like bananas. No kidding, either. It's like they'd add progressively larger quantities of banana oil or something to the sauce to keep people from eating too much maybe. Or--and what I'm getting at here--is maybe they'd managed to formulate some kind of spaghetti sauce that had a cumulative banana taste, so that the more you ate, the more you tasted bananas.

That sure would be a thing, huh? If you could actually make food that did that? I like to think about that sometimes.

We called that place Bananaghetti's.

I'm using this in a short story or a novel, it strikes me as Pychnonesque. Thank you!

Because I just did, and I think it's going to be p. great that from now on, every time I'm sitting around bitterly ruminating on how little I've accomplished and how my life has been squandered on mundanity and all, I can be like, "and it's all that davidm's fault, from that time he stole my bananaghetti from me," and the other 27% of the time, I'll sleep like a baby.

Also, this reminds me of Seymour Lessans' "Monday night spaghetti and meatballs" because Seymour liked spaghetti and meatballs best, and hence in The Golden Age to come as soon as we accept that man's will is not free and we see the sun in real time, Mom is going to be compelled by her own free will to undertake a serious study of the Art of Cooking, so that Seymour will be spaghetilly satisfied at the dinner table where also rumpy-pumpy will take place provided no little ones are around.
