Did you read the NYT story about the Vault? I had no idea there was such a place, but it apparently explains why so many high quality recordings have been getting out lately.

In other news, I scared this up as per your request and in celebration of Jerry's birth and death days.

I was never a big “Dead” fan. I’ve heard some of their music I really enjoyed and appreciated, but more often it just didn’t do it for me. I think if I would appreciate the music more if I re-evaluated it. I think way back when I was rejecting the music through association. Dead fans used to just grate on me (I’m talking about the locals who were into the dead when I was into doing drugs in the 90s). It was like just because they smoked pot they had to be all into the dead. I still think very few of those guys really like the Deads music, but they tripped and smoked so that’s what you were supposed to listen to if you did that sort of thing. Anyhow I used to listen to a lot of Dead liking it or not, because those guys had the best and cheapest acid around. Way better weed could be found easily but those guys were the best for acid and all sorts of “funky” pills.
