Default IB Suicide

I've just heard an anecdote of an IB kid who thought he didn't do very well in the IB programme, and therefore committed suicide. It turned out at the end though that he got 40+ over 45 on his diploma...

That's so sad...

I knew an 11th grade high school student who cried in class when he got a 'B' grade on a homework assignment. He did end up being class Valedictorian with about a 99.665 GPA (on a 100 scale). Back in those days I knew of no one that had a perfect 100 all the way through high school. It would lead me to think there be some grade inflation these days, but knowing that I scored a 104 in Algebra (I got every answer right the whole year, including extra credit questions), but the computer they had at the time wouldn't show more than 100, tells me there could've been some that had over 100 GPA if it had been allowed. Didn't really matter to me because I never had a GPA above 89.9 (just shy of an 'A') anyway, but it bothered some people.

Sounds like me. I did cry one time for a 6+ over 7 on a French oral...

One should always make sure they know what their grade really is before they off theirself over it.

One wonders how fucked in the head someone would have to be to kill theirself over a bad grade, instead of you know, trying the class again.
