Yup. Ms is specifically designed as an equivalent to Mr.
Replacing the Ms in the OP with Miss though, why this sexism is because women were and still are to some extent considered the property of their fathers, handed down at some point to their husbands; and that's not the kind of thing that goes away over a few decades.
