I like cilantro in some things...Vietnamese food, Mexican food, Thai, Indian..but I agree it is not the be-all-and-end-all spice.
The seeds from the same plant - aka coriander - are wonderful in East Indian cooking...makes my mouth water just thinking about those flavors.
