Gadzooks! Are they going to start requiring registered Democrats to wear a scarlet "L" every time they go out in public?


Since churches are legally forbidden to engage in partisan politics, it seems that they should indeed lose their tax-exempt status over this. But would the Bush Justice Department enforce it? I seem to recall NPR reporting that quite a lot of ministers were openly telling their congregations to vote for Bush in the last election, but somehow, the Justice Department had better things to do than to look into the issue.
