Default Re: That long-awaited update on my illness/move, and things.

I still feel completely exhausted and absentminded, and as someone who *enjoys* doing chores and stuff around the house, rather than being stuck next to the computer in bed, that annoys me to no end! But right now, I feel like I couldn't even stand upright consistently, much less cook or do anything worthwhile. I realized something was wrong with me when I instinctively reached into the cupboard where *dishes* were for some noodles, despite being intimately familiar with where everything resides, most of the rest of the time.

Sheesh. Even injecting those IV drugs is a challenge, at the moment. But as going back into the hospital is not an option I'll consider unless absolutely necessary, I'll stay the course, for now.

You can help however you want, I guess. Feel free to spread the word, linking to this publicly-viewable topic if need be. The more people that know about this, potentially, the better. Start a topic orchestrating a letter-writing campaign to Oprah, Good Morning America and/or and other talk shows, if desired. If you have journalist friends interested in a medical horror story (like DavidM at the New York Times?), give them my email address (allan.glenn@gmail.com), and so on. Grab some donations from friends or whatever (and keep them until you send them along later, once I get that tax-deductible trustee account).

From what I read in the "NC Consumer's Guide to Insurance," being on Medicaid without a gap in coverage of over 60 days counts as being consistently insured, so the pre-existing exclusions might be toothless. I need to look into obtaining private coverage, which, while it might be a bitch, will certainly be easier to pay for than the full $500,000! Does anyone have any recommendations on that front?

Any other ideas are welcome. ANY ideas. Really. Aside from "try praying," which might result in the mother of all bitch-slappings if not meant as a joke.
