Today, as we do most weekends, Mabel and I went out to get lunch and do errands together. We usually try to find new places to eat, mostly little family owned diners and taquerias and noodle shops and things. Today, she told me about this little bar/lounge place she'd tried with a small but solid Greek/Mediterranean menu, so I said, "Yes" and we went.

What she neglected or 'forgot' to mention is that it is a heavily themed Greek/Mediterranean bar/lounge, and the theme is "A Very Iron Maiden Christmas." There's a big Iron Maiden sticker on the door, and right as you walk in, there's a full-sized, decorated Christmas tree and a Santa and an Iron Maiden flag. There are more Christmas trees inside, old-fashioned elf dolls posed all around the rafters, garlands, tinsel, lights, and more Iron Maiden posters and stickers and a couple of longboards painted with Iron Maiden logos, and the staff uniforms are Iron Maiden t-shirts.

The food and the service were really good, too, but they wouldn't have to be for us to go back.
