This might be a combination of taking this thread too seriously and stating the obvious (if not other things as well) so I'll hedge my bets by being mostly facetious:
There's no such thing as thread killing!
Threads rarely run in a purely linear fashion, with each new poster responding to the last. Usually new respondents answer any random point that jumps out at them. So when people stop posting in a thread it's typically an indication of lost interest
in the thread as a whole, not just in the last post. And if you disagree, take it up with the first couple people who made a similar point that I'm just totally ripping off here.
