Uncertainty is reality. No one knows what is going to happen next beyond predictable physical phenomena; Coronavirus didn't somehow take away humanity's ability to know what the future will bring. Pandemics themselves on biological timescales are fairly predictable/inevitable -- we were due for one.
Not knowing what's next is what makes this experience interesting.
As far as being afraid of death, while I am no longer living a lifestyle that actively courts my imminent death, I am not afraid of death. I am pretty sure my life will be a LOT easier when I'm dead.
