Suspicious fires destroy 3 Street of Dreams homes, damage 2, in Snohomish County

Officials are blaming "domestic terrorism" for fires early today which destroyed three multi-million-dollar homes and damaged two others built as part of last year's Seattle Street of Dreams in the Maltby area of Snohomish County.

Damage was estimated at $7 million.

I would also imagine it's a lot easier to find and prosecute crimes perpetrated by US citizens (I'm assuming) on US soil. Why not go for the easy win?

That being said, at least they targeted uninhabited homes. I guess the only victim is the building company and their insurance company.

Well, in these parts, it's now big news that Tre Arrow has been returned by extradition from Canada right here to Puddle City to stand trial for torching three concrete trucks. Nobody was injured, and damage was assessed at $200,000.

In other news, US Navy forces launched a missile into a Somali village that destroyed a house and injured eight, including four children. Now, I'd bet the cost of the missile alone, not to mention the destruction it wrought, was greater than $200K. Will the officer who gave that order be extridited to stand trial?

I am a complete cynic and my first suspicion is the old arson-insurance scam. I would not put it past the owners to have set this all up themselves. The housing market is in a slump.
