I believe Regan naturalized Murdoch so he could get around the rules for foreigners owning more than whatever percentage of news media foreigners were allowed to use. Then with Murdoch's money the congress gutted any other anti-monopoly media laws that stood in Murdoch's way.

If he hates us, why does he own so much of us?

Ooh, weird. I spilled some breaky on my keyboard and wiping it off made every "e" on the page highlight in a soft yellow colour. Awesome! :cool:

Anyway, you don't have to love that which makes you rich and powerful. I doubt slave owners loved their slaves, despite owning them lock, stock and barrel.

(oooh, cool! All but one "e" is soft yellow - the "e" in 'Show your signature" is bright orange. lol. I wonder what caused that?)

Actually, I was just reminded of a German-American friend of Rita's that I gave a tour of Rotorua to while she was here a couple of years ago. She made her money as a European car dealer in NYC. When I asked her how she did it, she simply replied with a smirk on her face, "I'd never have been so successful if the Americans weren't so stupid". I kid you not - this is exactly what she said.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Murdoch thinks the same way.

Hmmm...the wiki article just says he became a naturalized citizen in 1985 to meet the requirements of laws governing ownership of broadcast media outlets....meaning Twentieth Century Fox.

That's even better...He needs to be clearly identified as a turncoat foreigner who abandoned his native country for greed and control of Americans. He can't be trusted, particularly having engaged in personal meetings with the leaders of other nations. Worst, he's reputed to be close with Tony Blair.

That there, alone, should earn him exile from the US.

The Aussies should be up in arms about all the Australian media that is owned by that traitorous cad, Murdoch. He should probably be divested of most, if not all, of his US holdings...or at least have his US assets frozen as a means of protecting the US public.

If you have firefox to "Search for text when I start typing" and you dropped your brecky on your "E" key, that's what happened.
