Does anyone here at know anything about cannibalism? Why it happens? WTF people are thinking?

A SLOVAKIAN man has been charged with attempted murder after a pensioner was savaged by a cackling “cannibal” during a raid on his home.

A police source said it was like a scene from the horror film The Silence of the Lambs, in which cannibal killer Hannibal Lecter wears a gruesome mask.

The source added: “There was blood on the walls and this guy was just laughing like a maniac.”

Here is the article, but basically this freak attacked an elderly man, biting of chunks of flesh from his chest, and chewing off and eating his thumb.

I see cannibalism stories quite often, (often from Europe) usually they are also sexual in nature. Is there a connection?

Ugh, next we'll be hearing about Slovakian hostels capturing travelers and selling them to people with murder fetishes.

As for the sexual connection with cannibalism, I'd guess that it's due to the sense of power the person's experiencing over his victim. You're taking the person into yourself through an act of eating which's fundamental to the human beings so that creates a sexual experience, I suppose.

There was a guy in the US, somewhere out in the middle of nowhere in Midwest who were kidnapping young men, raping them, then eating them. It was utterly disgusting. When he was finally caught, his house was literally a chamber of horrors.

I can't even begin to comprehend the kind of sick mind that'd take deep pleasure in doing that to people.

Don't be dissing Jeff. Rumors of his cannibalism are greatly exaggerated.

"Dahmer admitted to eating the biceps of his eighth victim, Ernest Miller ..."

The fact is he admitted to one bite.

Yeah, I noticed that when I found the entry. Though it doesn't surprise me that the reports of cannibalism were exaggerated.

Of course what Dahmer actually did do, for example, drill holes in his living victims' skulls and pour acid onto their brains, was a hell of a lot worse than cannibalism.

One thing I don't understand about that crime was that most of his victims were in their 20s, how the hell did Dahmer manage to overpower all of them? By drugging?

Apparently Dahmer could be a very personable fellow. He hung around gay bars and selected his victims according to their age and physical size, and a lot of them were homeless, runaway types. Basically he would buy them drinks and then invite them back to his apartment, where they probably expected to get paid for sex, and then feed them more drinks with drugs in them.
