Default Salon "War Room" Addict

I'm subscribed and I'm not sure if you can read it without at least getting the day pass, but it's worth it either way. Salon's War Room. So far, it's the best online source of breaking election news/rumors/polls I've found. I've been refreshing it obsessively all day.

And before the Kubric fans get on me, yes, there's plenty of fighting in it.

Oh. My. God.

Grist Magazine's Amanda Griscom (whose column "Muckraker" appears regularly on Salon) reports that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is on the shortlist for EPA chief if Kerry takes the White House

I'm on the shortlist for Assistant Whitehouse Trashcan cleaner-outer. I've got the inside track on it, I gave big money to the DNC. If I had given as much money to the Bush campaign four years ago, I'd have been on the Tin Star donors list, and be ambassador to Bumfukistan or something right now, but Dems don't work it that way, they actually want you to be qualified for something.

But South Carolina and Virginia are too close to call. Is that bad news for Bush?
Oh my goodness that's encouraging! South Carolina is almost as solidly conservative as is Texas. If S.C. is actually still in play, that's very encouraging news indeed!

Cheers,

Michael

Senate watch: With 600,000 votes cast in Kentucky, Democrat Daniel Mongiardo is leading Republican Jim Bunning by 10 percent.
I don't know if anyone here has been following that race or not. That's "incumbent" Republican Jim Bunning. That's what he gets for refusing to debate, the peckerhead. One Senate seat switches from R to D. Maybe Oklahoma will follow suit.

I have been following the Bunnings Say the Dardnest Things race. The polls still had Bunning ahead (much to my amazement) before election day, so Mongiardo's lead is big news.

I've been keeping an eye on the OK madness too, warren, ever since the whole medicare fraud tubaligation story break.

Coburn just gave a victory speech. Carson is not conceding yet. Not that many returns are in, it was called based on exit polls. Nobody has ever asked me who I voted for as I was leaving a polling place. I wouldn't be surprised if Coburn wins, just one more reason to get the fuck out of this state full of nimrods.

Bunning is ahead by 10,000 or so with 91% precincts reporting.

Lots of "too close to call" states so far. Too close to call in Pennsylvania and Florida because people are still in line to vote. Wheeeee!

You know, I was just content to sit back and find out who won on the news tommorrow morning, until I saw this link. Evil people. I did my civic duty, voted, and cursed the fact that I live in texas. The best I can hope for out of this election is that Austin wises up and votes to actually begin a light rail system for the city. We need it!

Damn the rest of (conservative) texas.
