Former Bush Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona says the Bush administration muzzled him at every turn if what he wanted to say didn't line up with their agenda. He couldn't talk about science at all, let alone about stem cell research. He couldn't talk about his own misgivings about abstinence only sex education. "I was blocked at every turn. I was told the decision had already been made -- stand down, don't talk about it," Carmona testified, along with his predecessors, Dr. C. Everett Koop and Dr. David Satcher, in the Senate confirmation hearing for his successor, Dr. James Holsinger, who appears to be more closely aligned to the Bush administrations ideology, theological or political.

Typical. But I have to wonder how he managed to put in four years before having the integrity to resign.

That Holsinger dude has it all. Sure, he's not board certified or anything, but who cares about that shit when his CV features a master's degree in biblical studies, presidency of the United Methodist Judicial Council, founding a church dedicated in large part to curing people of homosexuality, and a prior government position with the VA under Bush 41. This guy will get medicine back on the politically correct, socially conservative straight and narrow, just as God intended.

Anyone trying to "cure" me is likely to have an unfortunate encounter with my knife/dagger collection. As wielded by me.
