Westboro protest draws student counter protest

It's the police that have been protecting them normally, I think.
I'm sure were it not for the police, most of them would have been severely beaten by now, possibly to death. Protesting the way they do at soldiers' funerals without police protection would probably be a very bad idea.

I wasn't advocating it. Just saying that they can only be safe doing their protests because of the police.
Ironically were it not for the government they condemn so strongly, they'd be in great danger.

Though I agree that beating them up would possibly result in their being able to claim martyr status, I think showing them on teevee with egg on their faces, would actually make them look less like a serious movement and more like the idiots they are.

I'm rather pleased with the idea of 'soft missiles'. Hamburgers was inspired. Egg would be better. Cottage cheese would be wonderous. Plastic ketsup bottles, filled with ketsup. Rotten vegetables used to be the 'soft missile' of choice. I haven't seen that much these days.
