Buried deep in the archives of America's intelligence services are a series of memos, written during the last years of President George W. Bush's administration, that describe how Israeli Mossad officers recruited operatives belonging to the terrorist group Jundallah by passing themselves off as American agents. According to two U.S. intelligence officials, the Israelis, flush with American dollars and toting U.S. passports, posed as CIA officers in recruiting Jundallah operatives -- what is commonly referred to as a "false flag" operation.

The similarities among the attacks were not lost on Iranian authorities, who immediately blamed both Israel and the U.S. for Wednesday's attack. "The bomb was a magnetic one and the same as the ones previously used for the assassination of the scientists and is the work of the Zionists," Tehran's Deputy Governor Safar Ali Baratlou was quoted as saying by the Fars News Agency.

And now we have Israeli drones working for the Kurdish PKK in Turkey, a NATO country:

Israeli drones have been detected spying on Turkish military units in southern Turkey for the PKK (Kurdistan Worker's Party), according to Today’s Zaman, Turkey's English version of the mass-circulation Turkish daily Zaman. The PKK is considered by the US and EU to be a terrorist organization.

This, just as U.S. drones are being redeployed to Turkey from Iraq to assist the Turkish government in their war with Kurdish separatists. The timing couldn't be any better, or more ironic.
