The city is in shock.

Most people here are still pretty raw from the 2011 quake. I know that's 8 years ago now but for most it's never far below the surface.

Mosque shooting terrorist sentenced to life without possibility of parole.

Good.

Guilty plea and no statement given to the court by the terrorist. There were several days of victim impact statement. I haven't been able to bring myself to read the reporting on those yet.

Life without parole has never been given as a sentence in this country before.
