Re: :banghead:
Douglas J. Bender, may he rot forever in a Hell created especially for him, used to post these horrifyingly long threads at IIDB about how math could prove that the Bible was entirely correct. Naturally, these ended up in the Rants, Raves and Preaching forum. As a moderator of that forum, I had to read them. At one point there were three going on. Reading them was torture.
Everyday, a certain poster, who shall remain nameless here, used to post the * smilie in one of the threads. I will always think of him upon seeing the smilie.
* not the one above, but the version that IIDB uses.
Why am I thinking of banging my head into a wall? Damned if I know. I was fine most of the day but now suddenly am filled with anxiety.

Tried to paint a little bit but just can’t concentrate. Then I realized that I was hungry and started boiling water for some rice. The water comes to a boil and in goes the rice. I start to turn away from the stove and *Bump* goes the pot and splashes boiling water over the stove. At least it didn’t get on the floor or on me.
Argh.

Oh crap. Electric or gas stove? If the latter be sure the pilot light is on. Have you had any dinner at all?
I remember Dougie's roof demons, but don't remember who used to post s on his threads. I still sometimes read the RRP archives for fun.

Electric. I hope the pilot light isn't on.
The rice was still at the bottom so only water spilled. It was almost boiling over by the time the last post was written though. Just finished eating it, with some so so store bought gravy.

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought that up. Please don't go looking.

I had a quesadilla for dinner. Chunks of gf'd chicken and sauteed mushrooms with shredded cheese, topped with sour cream and salsa.
Apropos of nothing, just thought I'd be sociable.

Re: :banghead:
On a note distantly related to your dinner, have you ever seen an Argyle? They're little double-layered gravy boats/teapots invented by the 13th Duke Argyle who hated having cold gravy on the table. I saw them on Antiques Roadshow and they look like a damn good idea to me.

Do they hang out on the sides of buildings and spew water?

Nope. They don't make good socks either.
Isn't she lovely? I hate congealed gravy too, so I'd love her even if she weren't pretty.

Mmm, I had perfectly rotisseried whole chicken for dinner, with yellow squash and carrots. Though not until after the chicken and I ended up on the floor of the kitchen.
livius, by double layered, do you mean that there is tea on the bottom and gravy on top, acting like a double boiler type arrangement? Very clever!

You should've killed it outside. They're too hard to wrestle in the kitchen!
Seriously though, you okay? What happened?

I'm quite certain the BoneKnees would be delighted to dance with such a fine gravy kettle:

Almost, pesci. They used hot water. Some models had a false bottom a la double boiler but my faves have a second layer all the way around, like a gravy boat within a slightly larger gravy boat. There's a lip somewhere where you add the boiling water. The pouring spout is solely for the gravy.
This one has an external lip across from the spout. Cool, huh?

Oh, since I haven't been eating much, I bought some vitamins yesterday. I think it is obvious Mr. Cruise was talking out of his ass.

Cute, but unspectacular. Now if he were sporting a pancake on his head, then you'd really have something there.

But that's the thing, he was sporting a pancake on his head! It just fell off before I could get the camera.
