Astronaut flushes family and career down the drain ...
Idiot to be brought up on attempted murder charges.
What a friggin maroon. She cheats on her husband and gets upset when the guy she's fooling around with is seeing someone else on the side too? What a hypocrite.

Heh. True ... maybe the toilet analogy wasn't the best one to go with, eh?

On the contrary, it was perfect! That's some pretty determined obsessiveness right there.

what an idiot. the artical i read said that she basicly still has a job.
“Our primary concern is her health and well-being and that she get through this,” Lindsey told reporters afterward. “Her status (with the astronaut corps) has not changed.”
this is a little odd to me. looking at the nature of her job; i would think a person had to be mentaly stable

Prison's too good for her. They should launch her into space.

Well, that's one of her buddies/fellow astronauts/co-workers that you quoted. What do you think he's going to say? " She's a dingbat and NASA is better off without her."?

you have a point, but this person made himself/herself look bad (imo) by sayinh this. it's one of those time when a person should just be quiet. like when OJ got away with murder, what did he say; "i'm going to continue to look for the real killer".
he and everybody else knew that that wasn't going to happen. just like this person should know(s) that NASA is not going to risk catching heat if this person has a mental problem and becomes tomarrow's headlines. it is clear that she is suffering from something b\c no sane person (imo) will do this.

Perhaps exposure to unfiltered cosmic rays have exacerbated her "raging hormonal imbalances"?

Re: Astronaut flushes family and career down the drain ...
Whenever I see something like that, it makes me wonder about the human brain. What happens? I mean, something has to simply give out, or blackout or break, inside a person's head, for them to do something like that.
It just makes me wonder, where a person goes, on the inside, to do something like that.
I mean, it's not like the mother who lifts the car off her child, an instantaneous thing. This was prolonged, hours long.
It's kind of scary to think about. Did she just snap and go blank? Was it an internal explosion, or did she, in her mind, take a simple step to one side, and there she was, on the other side?
These things puzzle me.
What also puzzles me , and I haven't seen anyone comment on it on the news or here is: What kind of car was she driving that she could drive from Texas to Florida on a single tank of gas? I mean, why wear a diaper if you had to stop at the Qwikmart for gas, right?

Letterman asked that question as well. It is a valid one.

My 1995 Ford Taurus would go about 600 (35 mpg, 18 gallon tank) miles on a tank of gas, far further than my bladder could (8 hours @ 75mph).

Maybe she was driving a hybrid?
Or maybe some super secret NASA vehicle.

You just know the NASA pshrinks are going to analysing this one... "Where did we go wrong?"
"Prisoner 12734, you have a visitor!"
"No! The pshrink again!"

How did this woman make it past the screening process? Unfortunately, I can't really tell if this article is presenting her in an unfair light considering how scant in details it is.

Doesn't one have to be fairly obsessive just to become a astronaut?
