Default Christ on a Stick

Crystal City, Texas

Click pic for link

According to some, Jesus Christ himself has chosen to make an appearance as pruned elm tree branches in a small town in South Texas. Some say it looks like Jesus on the cross. To me it looks like Jesus preparing to do a cartwheel, Cheerleading Christ. "Gimme a G! Gimme a O! Gimme a D! What does that spell? Gawd!" Naturally, in this god-fearing community, the tree has become a religious shrine.

I thought this thread was gonna be about Lauri. I'm less interested in Jesus tree.

Speaking of suckers, what a novel idea for a lollipop.

That tree should be punished for breaking Commandment number 2.

Whoever was supposed to be taking care of that tree should be crucified.

It was stupidly planted next to that guidewire, probably a stabilizer cable for a nearby utility pole. Then somebody gave it a Nazi pruning job, with lots of glaring stub cuts. I have no doubt it looks like its suffering. It is.

And where's Laurie, any way?

This sort of thing was one of the reasons that lead me to the conclusion that so called "miracles" are nothing more than human superstition. Seriously, what is an all powerful, loving and knowing god who loves mankind and desires everyone to be saved doing by making appearances in crackers, wafers and trees? What use does any such miracles have? What practical knowledge can one derive from them? Can we solve any of the current world problems with some knowledge derived from these miracles?

Seem to be nothing more than useless stuff. Hardly the product of a god with the capacity to do anything.

How many licks does it take to get to the center of your savior?

I don't know what's more pathetic, that people believe these are miracles or that this crap even makes the news.
