The ? in my title is because maybe there's a reason people left or never joined FF. I mean look at us. But if any do swing by, - there's a monstrous green smilie just waiting for the you! Bring liv if you can find her.

And to ers interested in a possible new site and who aren't on Farcebook, I guess we could post updates and links here.

guess that's got nothing on the wars of the roses so the brit monarchy wins out in long-running drama

Internet Infidels was a group dedicated to promoting 'Metaphysical Naturalism'/Non-Theism. They attached a message board to their site, out of which grew a community that they didn't want. Eventually, they handed off the forum database to a very 'polarizing' individual who relocated the forums but they apparently withered away. By that point I had long since quit caring.

This site was founded before that point to create a home for some of the community and discussions. It evolved from there, but age and drama have taken their toll on these forums, making it much quieter.

I thiiink we're kind of over the wars of the roses. But the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family are still a longer running drama than IIDB.

Both are filled with self-entitled tyrants and people of very questionable morals, and one or two who may be just trying to do the right thing.

I ordered Matlock on IIDB probably 17-18 years ago.

Then, we switched to that one interim forum after IIDB was well into its death spiral, and switched to after the interim forum flamed out with even stupider dramas.

That gave me some pretty bad flashbacks.

I would end up accidentally trolling there sometimes just because everyone had such huge sticks up their asses. I also recognized a bunch of people there from when I used to intentionally troll atheist newsgroups on Usenet. Like shooting fish in a barrel. Half points awarded.

And IIDB is the reason I try to never refer to logical fallacies by name. There were soooo many people there who'd memorize little aphorisms and the names of fallacies without understanding them. Including one moderator in their super-respectable, hoity toity debate forum who was always citing "the exception proves the rule" when anyone pointed out that some claim they'd made was wrong.

You know what's also really funny to me about this thrad? Apparently at one point in my life, being an atheist was so important to me that I actually sought out like-minded communities online.

Nowadays, I don't even think about atheism or theism. And I spend my time online playing superheroes in CoH and bitching about old people things here.
