Those who have dealt with SFPride Org have had issues with them becoming more and more corporation based but the Org has never made it so clear before that this is about sponsors not the LGBT community. With their high dues and few community-breaks many corporations can easily buy into the parade over small groups, meaning Clear Channel, broadcaster of 'die fags die' Rush Limbaugh, gets significantly more parade space and Marketing than the whole of the B and T in the LGBT. On the upside I could totally see their confrontational attitude and blatant corporate support railing up the Occupy movement to protest SFPride Org and their corporate overlords.

Several years ago I had a funeral for a high school student who just happened to have a connection with my church and a local, very conservative, Baptist church. Funerals for school kids are always very well attended. We held the service in the High School gym and the lunch following the service in the local community center. Given the large crowd that was anticipated and the young woman's dual affiliation, we invited the ladies from the Baptist church to assist the ladies from the Lutheran church with preparing and serving the lunch. You could tell, at a glance, which ladies were Lutheran and which were Baptist. All of the Lutheran ladies were wearing slacks and all of the Baptist ladies wore dresses.

A 17 year old meets a 15 year old they start a relationship, the 17 year old turns 18, gets arrested and expelled because the parents of the 15 year old thinks that the older girl turned their daughter gay.
