951795 I first learned English in school when I was 12, high school (junior high I guess in US terms). I had already picked up a bit from the tv though before. We got German, French and English in school then. I had picked up a LOT of German by then, was pretty much 100% in understanding it. So German is my second language I suppose.

He has a strong accent although speaks extremely good English, better than most Americans. He uses British phrases sometimes and it sounds like an British accent mixed in with the Dutch at times. I count on getting a few "OI!"s when we chat and if I haven't gotten one in due time, I turn up my :smartass:ness a notch or two to make sure I do. :giggle:

If he's had a few beers and/or is tired, his "th"s come out as "d"s since the Dutch language doesn't have the "th" sound. Words that would begin with "th" in English often begin with "d" in Dutch. At the same time, his g's get furry because the Dutch language doesn't have the English "g" sound. I still haven't gotten their "g" sound down.

Is it "cute"? Hrm.. dunno.. it's a furrin accent so it's sexeh in that respect. :nod:
