No she did not. She is not involved in the book and cannot profit from it. (plea deal)
Bill Simon, writer and producer of the Emmy-nominated Setting Sail, a PBS documentary with Walter Cronkite, is supposed to turn the Lafave book in to publishers within the next few months, according to Lafave's ex-husband, Owen Lafave.
Simon, who lives in California, did not return a message left on his answering machine Thursday.
Debra Lafave, 25, is not involved with the project. As part of her recent plea deal with Hillsborough prosecutors, she cannot make any money from books, movies or the like.

I was just reading about that. Our law people could probably give a better answer, but the son of sam laws seem to be state based and probably unconstitutional, so states have been working to fix any problems to make it as hard as possible to make a profit.
Which is all separate from a plea deal.

Lawyer 1: 'okay, the alcohol treatment centre story didn't garnish much sympathy, what else do we have?'
Lawyer 2: 'Did you mention he was getting help for behavioral problems?'
Lawyer 1: nods
Lawyer 2: 'His puppy was hit by a car when he was 5 years old?'
Lawyer 3: 'Okay, I got it - he was.... umm... molested by an older family member when he was a boy'
Lawyer 2: 'No, make it a clergyman!'
Lawyers, all three nod & grin
