If I understand correctly, this is the "bribing Stormy Daniels" case. While I'm sure he violated a law or two, this is the least important crime he committed. It's been over 2 years. This man needs to be indicted on his more serious crimes.

I agree with both sentiments, Trump needs to go down, but there are also serious crimes that need to be acknowledged. If Trump died tomorrow his coffin should be tried for voter fraud/intimidation as we can’t let things like asking for more votes stand as acceptable, or we need the current court to acknowledge we are just that corrupt.

Oh, I absolutely agree. The whole Stormy Daniels thing shoulda been enough to stop him from getting nominated. But it wasn't.
Surely, the justice system has to work eventually to put him where he belongs.

This is all very normal mob and racketeering prosecution. They started with the small fish and squeezed until they sang like canaries about the next level up. Then those clowns get squeezed until their eyes are ready to pop out. It takes years.

Some of the legal analysis I was reading indicates that the Stormy Daniels case might be the most straightforward case to prosecute, but has a lower chance of success. I want him convicted, and he should have been indicted before he announced running again.

Regardless of him being a terrible human, he's just too old to run for another term as President, in my opinion: Biden is also too old. Why does the USA political system keep selecting these old people as presidential candidates?

Trump won't go to jail. As fantastic as it would be to see his fat ass frog-marched in a jumpsuit roughly matching his skin tone (imagine the Oompa Loompa memes!), he'd pull a Polanski before that happens. Not by any craftiness on his part; he's just rich and white enough that the opportunity will be handed to him as if he earned it. Then he'll continue to tweet about the ever-so-unfair persecution from "exile."

At this point, the best I dare hope for is death by heart attack, stroke, or choking on a Big Mac.

ETA @ceptimus - probably the same reason the Catholic Church usually picks an old guy for Pope. So he won't live long enough to change too much. Of course, even if Liz Warren were campaigning from hospice care, I'd still vote for her.

I think that we need an amendment to the Constitution that sets the age bracket for the President's office between 45 and 65 years of age.

The USA constitution already limits a President to a maximum of eight years in office. So unless you're worried about the influence of ex-presidents, that doesn't seem a good reason to continue to choose people past the normal retirement age for the job.
