OK, it's pretty clear that we don't have a clear concensus on whom we think is scum. So, reluctantly, I'm going to jump on a bandwagon, to avoid getting stuck in another quagmire.

Well, I think that makes it official. I don't think there are many people left who you haven't voted for. Which means, if my hunch if correct and you're the traitor, you've led us to the mob or at the very least ... whittled down our list considerably.

I think at this point, the top two choices ... you can't go wrong.

The town's going to win this one.

There are plenty of people Leesifer hasn't voted for.

She has voted for: Nightson, Spenser, beyelzu, godfry n. glad, MonCapitan2002, trillian, TomJoe

Leaving: Adam, balluga, cappuccino, Ensign Steve, Joshua Adams, Julie, NC Kev, slimshady2357, Sock Puppet

(I say this because, as one of the people she's left alone, I don't want to be suspected for a poor reason.)

So capp, who you gonna vote for?

Me, in a revenge vote? Or will you wait for your mafia buddies to off me tonight, which will clearly mark you for death if you survive today?

Leesifer, who if I'm correct is the traitor and you'll be killing off (because you're scum) your protection?

Or will you make a safe pick, of someone who isn't being voted for or someone who has no chance of being lynched?

I don't do revenge voting, Tom. I'm not that kind of person. And I don't have any mafia buddies standing by to avenge me because I'm not one of them.

I haven't decided who to vote for yet. Most likely either trillian or julie for being a potential traitor. Leesifer? I have my doubts she's the traitor, what makes you so sure of everything?

Oh please, you clipped part of my quote and took it out of context. Very smooth Tom. The town isn't going to win since we're killing ourselves while the real Mafia's sitting back and laughing.

Why wouldn't you include yourself amongst us? You know, use "we're" and "our"? I think the pressure is getting to you, and you're starting to crack. Cop? Vigiliante? You getting this?

You can't be serious. You're using my choice of pronouns as evidence? You've really gone round the bend. As I recall, you're the ones who's voting against me, also a townie There's nothing we about lynching an innocent.

It is an interesting slip...

At first I thought he just meant "you're not going to win" as in "You, TomJoe (scum) are not going to win". But then he goes on to say "total waste of your votes" which doesn't make sense under that interpretation.

Very strange indeed :chin:

As much as I am chagrined to admit it; I think TomJoe certainly makes an interesting case. If I wasn't so convinced of Leesifer being mafia, I'd consider switching votes. I think I will be keeping a closer eye on what cappuccino says from now on.

Maybe he thinks "you're" mafia... :tmtongue:

At any rate, I voted to lynch JA for pronoun usage lastgame, and it was mistake, so I'm not too swayed bby this. On the other hand, the way you two are going at it, either one of you is mafia (leaning toward capp, as his voting record is more suspicious), or you're both providing a great smokescreen for the actual mafia.

I read capp's post as using "you" because he'd be dead, and thus no longer part of the group. I don't read much into slips because they make confirmation bias too attractive.

I'm not sure what to make of the TomJoe vs. cappuccino cage match. It's generating discussion, sure, but also a lot of noise. It may be providing a smokescreen, either intentionally or unintentionally, for the actual mafia, as Adam suggests. I do wonder about TomJoe's bulldog tactics -- is it really such a bad move for a mafia to be in the spotlight, when it's the quieter ones who get accused more often?

Then again, he has some good points about capp, although he might exaggerate them a bit. I did notice that capp's voting was haphazard and didn't have much to do with the suspicions he'd posted. But then capp seems to prefer wild guesses when he doesn't have enough information to go on.

I also noticed that trillian neatly deflected, rather than answered, the suspicions that Joshua and I raised about her giving advice to the enemy. Then again, she gave reasonably good advice to the cop when she was scum last game, so maybe she's just too damned helpful.

And I still don't see anything from balluga that is clearly meant to be helpful to the town. He has been rather Adamesque in providing statistics, a voting system, etc., but not much in the way of town-centric analysis.

Why do you think she's the traitor? Just wondering what evidence you have for that.

I think it would be interesting to look at what people are voting after what other people, in the interest of trying to find the traitor. Earlier I said:
Quote:
As for the traitor, they know who the mafia are, but the mafia don't know who the traitor is. I wouldn't be surprised if the traitor is (cleverly or not) voting for the same people as the mafia. That is, they could be waiting to see who one or more mafia vote for and then joining that bandwagon.
Has anyone had the chance to take a look at something like this? I think Adam mentioned he had taken a look, but I can't remember what he said. I'll take a closer look when I get home and see what Adam said and what I can find.

I'm with sock, it would seem that likely at least one of capp and TJ are scum...

Well, it's all based on my suspicion that cappuccino is mafia. If he's not, then it's all a wash. Though I'm willing to put my neck on the line here because if I'm right, chances are the mafia will off me in retaliation tonight whether or not cappuccino is lynched. Though if he isn't lynched, and I die ... I strongly suggest you look immediately at him.

On the assumption that Capp is mafia, I looked at who he's spoken about and voted for, and I come up with a short list of people he hasn't really interacted with all that much. Some of the people on that list (I ran an errand and I'm at home, my list is at work) are Sock Puppet, Adam, MonCap amongst others). He wouldn't know Leesifer is the traitor, but Leesifer would know he was mob. I looked at who she's tangled with and defended and I find that she's carefully avoided Capp and Sock Puppet (who I also suspect is mob). Sock Puppet recently has begun to distance himself from Capp, but I think the mob is going to disavow Capp now in an attempt to throw the town off their scent. When I last played Mafia here, us mobsters had a plan that if one of us was about to get thrown under the bus by the town, at least one of us would throw a vote in so when voting patterns (and defense patterns) arose, it'd throw them off their scent. I think given capp being in the spotlight, we're seeing that now. Leesifer has stayed away from Sock Puppet as well.

So my "baddie list" looks as follows and would be who if I had the say, would get the axe in this order:

1. Cappuccino - mob
2. Sock Puppet - mob
3. Leesifer - traitor

Julie and Ensign Steve both give me suspicions as well, and I can't rule out Adam either because accusation/voting patterns early in the game distanced him from Capp. Same goes for MonCap.

Quote:
I'm with sock, it would seem that likely at least one of capp and TJ are scum...
It'd be foolish for us to both be mob, but I think the chances that one of us are mob is highly likely. If I die (at whoever's hands), it'd obviously remove all doubt as to which one of us is.

I'm at work at the moment and pretty busy so can't check the thread properly.

I am not the traitor. For heaven's sake, (sorry Julie) I am a townie.

I will check back over my voting patterns but I'm sure I haven't voted for more different people than some. I think saying "there are many people left who you haven't voted for" is a bit unfair.

I'll be able to check properly once I get home.
