Not actually disputing that take at all; she probably would be blamed and ostracized if she divorces him. However, divorcing him would be scripturally sound, per the standard Protestant/Evangelical doctrine. She can divorce his ass with full blessing of the church due to his adultery. Certainly, any loving and well meaning interpretation of the scripture backs that up. But many of the more cultish denominations and hard core communities - like the one the Duggars subscribe to - will still blame if not ostracize the wife and mother. Single mothers, even if fully justified biblically are anathema to that crowd. Anna Duggar said she partly blames herself even though she did make herself available, so it's not much of a stretch to think other people in that circle think along similar lines. Publicly at least it looks like the Duggars are circling around their son and not their daughter in law. I'm not saying she's right and you're wrong - without more information (information I honestly don't want in the public space) - all of this is speculation based on what we do know of the Quiverfull nonsense.

With groups like this it's almost certain they've taught her that it's her job to make things right and if they aren't right, she's failed. They really see women as only partially human who are closer to the devil than man is and you knew it had to be coming, are visited by demons every month.
