Re: Countdown from one million thread
990825 Thanks, Lees.
I will sing a song for you Legs, while you run your errands. What would you like me to sing?

Re: Countdown from one million thread
I tidied up lots as well as finishing setting up this new PC. And I bought myself a new printer as my old colour printer wouldn't work. It would have cost almost as much to buy some new print cartridges as to buy a complete new printer.
The old printer still bugs me though. It's an HP895Cxi - I wonder if it is only the print cartridges I would give it away to someone who wants a printer if I knew it only needed cartridges, but if it's something else wrong it's better to dump it in a skip.

Re: Countdown from one million thread
Ok then, my favorite and I think you like it too. Hit #990,815
Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl
With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there
She would merengue and do the cha-cha
But while she tried to be a star,
Tony always tended bar
Across the crowded floor, he worked from 8 til 4
They were young and they had each other
Who could ask for more?
At the Copa, Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana
At the Copa, Copacabana
Music and passion were always in fashion
At the Copa....they fell in love.
His name was Rico. He wore a diamond.
He was escorted to his chair, he saw Lola dancing there
And when she finished, he called her over,
But Rico went a bit to far,
Tony sailed across the bar
And then the punches flew and chairs were smashed in two
There was blood and a single gun shot
But just who shot who?
At the Copa, Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana
At the Copa, Copacabana
Music and passion were always in fashion
At the Copa....she lost her love.
Copa... Copacabana... music and passion... always the fashion...
Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl,
But that was 30 years ago, when they used to have a show.
Now it's a disco, but not for Lola,
Still in the dress she used to wear,
Faded feathers in her hair.
She sits there so refined, and drinks herself half-blind.
She lost her youth and she lost her Tony,
Now she's lost her mind!
At the Copa, Copacabana
The hottest spot north of Havana
At the Copa, Copacabana
Music and passion were always in fashion
At the Copa....don't fall in love.
I know, I know, keep my day job. Hope your errands ran smoother with a little Manilow diddly sung your way.

Re: Countdown from one million thread
990,804
So, I'd tried washing the nozzles of the ink cartridges on my old colour printer before I bought the new one - I did them with water, and even tried detergent - no joy.
This morning, I was about to take it to the local refuse disposal site but I thought I'd just check the cartridges one at a time (yesterday, I'd done the black and the colour cartridge together). So I whip out the colour cartridge, wipe over the end of the nozzles with a wet finger, pop it back in and voila! the bloody thing starts to work perfectly.
Now I have to find a home for a printer, as the new one occupies the space this one used to live in.

Re: Countdown from one million thread
What a pain, cep. We've got an Epson somethingorother printer and I bought some printer cartridges online. Now every time we try and print something, we get a warning saying they are not the "correct" cartridges. They work fine, after clicking through about 990,082 warnings about them.
