Re: What's up with you?
I got a metal pipe dropped on the top of my head three weeks back and recovered without incident. Cool scar though.

My cousin Anne was in town the other day and brought her 3-month-old little girl (they live in NYC). I got to cuddle the ovary-poppingly cute baby and hang out with some of my extended family.

My fancy coffee maker was rendered useless because a tiny rubber washer fell off. I am drinking coffee from my camping percolator this morning.

Horse Girl took a header off a horse called Scooby, during a jump, she's fine, but flashes of Christopher Reeves went through my head.

Oy! I am glad HG is all right. And Corona, too!
I am still waiting for things and such, but not as antsy as before. I am also trying to read a book on a deadline. I forgot how interesting the whole rest of the world becomes when I try to do that.

Re: What's up with you?
I'm having to do a lot more graphical design than I'm used to at my new job, as opposed to my last job where I did programming and we had professional artists making the graphical stuff. I'm getting a lot more practice with CSS and I'm teaching myself Paint Shop Pro. I might start making avatars and smilies just for practice.

I think we have a thread where one could go to get ideas.

Re: What's up with you?
I have confirmation that living alone is what I do best. It's not good for me--I smoke more, I eat more when I'm alone--but I'm happiest when it's just me and my dogs in the house.
My daughter visited two weeks ago and I loved seeing her. I enjoyed letting her stay overnight and hang out. But I was also thrilled when she packed up her shit and left.

You really should. And condoms. You never know what you'll catch.

Re: What's up with you?
Uni started this week. Unfortunately the kids are still home on holidays and I'm still the primary caregiver. So the amount of study I did was approximately zero. On the upside they go back next Tuesday so I can get stuck into it then.
Also on the upside I'm making a trebuchet with my eleven year old son, Jake.
No trebuchet or castle smilies.

I know! I've been waiting for a pants on fire smilie forever! Or I just thought of it...
I didn't get the job doing research that I couldn't take anyway. Still sucks to be rejected.
I did get the chance for another part time job though, job 6 on the way.

Re: What's up with you?
I'm wrapping up the functional design of a financial distribution system that I started last September. This is the first time I've done such a large design by myself and for a while, the sheer amount of work was overwhelming. The developer I'm working with finalized all the screen designs and I finished all the report designs yesterday. All I have left are about 6 or 7 more use cases, then some flow charts, then some QA and then...I'm done!

Re: What's up with you?
I just went on a tour of our villages only historic "mansion" (just opened to the public this month!) and was asked if I was interested in being a docent, since I knew so much about the history of area and the period furniture and architecture. I am not even from here nor have I formally studied anything...I didn't know whether to be flattered or scared. As a fun hobby, however, I may go for it.

Re: What's up with you?
I may do it just to have a little inside path to research for stories and photographs (one of my geeky interests).."Hi I am a docent for the Swift Mansion and I understand you are descended from them..." kinda thing.
LOL, I found these nuts http://www.bonsecourparanormalinvest...stigations.htm
Swift school is where Kiddo will go
