It seems the trains are still running though. I'm gonna take one to my sister's house later and my brother is gonna drive there even (he has to drive back to work tonight too). Seems everyone is starting to get the hang of this snow thing.

I've had to cancel my trip to see my family on Boxing Day.

Not because of the journey but because there's too much work for Sandra to do alone when all the water is frozen.

My son's voice answered the 'phone. It wasn't my son though - it was his son :yup:

No fresh snowfall here today, but the stuff that's already fallen isn't going anywhere. :glare:

All around the guttering of my house there are six-foot-long icicles! If one of them broke off at the top and fell when someone was underneath it would cause a nasty injury - maybe death!

Imagine after a thaw the police find a body - clearly killed by a large sharp instrument, but no signs of the weapon anywhere and no suspect or motive - would they figure out what had happened? :chin:

890892 Also I read that the company who runs the trains to the south from here (which I am gonna be on) claims they are special snow-proof Swiss trains who 'love snow, just like Saint Bernards do', according to a spokesperson. They seem to be the only ones that are still running like normal, the national railway company runs on a special reduced schedule.

The railways here are running on emergency schedules. But that is perhaps due to the fact that they don't have to pay any compensation for delays or cancellations when they declare 'emergency'.
