* locations... north of a line from Carrollton to Atlanta to
Jefferson... and south of a Rome to Hiawassee line.
* Hazard types... light snow and black ice.
* Accumulations... less than 1 inch of snow on grassy and elevated
surfaces.
* Timing... rain will mix with and begin changing to snow in
northwest Georgia by early afternoon... spreading across the
rest of north Georgia through the early evening hours.

870028 Raining like mad here. It's supposed to be changing to snow soon. They're calling for seven inches before it quits around midnight. That's going to be a blizzard if it actually happens. Also, I have my doubts as to how much will stick given that the temps are only supposed to dip below freezing after dark. My guess is that everything will be a sheet of ice in the morning. Worse, the week of rain (3+" as of yesterday) might make for a lot of downed trees. Good that we've got backup heat.
