Yes, I've had the Ring since Night 2, at least I think so. I'll have to double-check 'cause I can't seem to be able to count.

Anyway, I am just about certain about one Nazgul, and I'm just holding back to see if I can suss out the other. If there is another; it's unlikely there were only 2 to start, but I gave up making assumptions about how this game was set up.

We've got plenty of time. This is lynch or lose day if there are 2 Nazgul left. I'm looking to see if somebody does what I think they might when I come out with my views, but this is my last day on vacation and I'm traveling tomorrow. I'd rather have enough time to do this right rather than a post here and there.

Oh, and I've used the Ring thrice. So Naz already have seen me. But I don't care because I can pass it tonight before they kill me. So they're screwed if we get one of them today.

Sorry about the delay. I'm still on and off as I'm home today with a suddenly sickish Li'l Puppet. Now my wife tells me she has a last-minute trip to take tomorrow, so I may have to take off tomorrow too, but either way I'll be more active than I had been.

Demi passed me the Ring on Night 2. Cantmakeuphismindus Prime told me I couldn't do anything with it that night. Night 3 I investigated Nightson.

Night 4 I investigated bey. He came up Hobbit. I didn't want to pass him the Ring yet as I was hoping to have two Hobbits so I could clear at least one and still have an avenue for passing. I didn't see any point in clearing him unless he came in danger of a lynch, so I stfu'd.

By investigating three times the Nazgul would see me*, but I figured they wouldn't until after they locked in their move, so I'm safe even though I did the third view on Night 5.

So I investigated Deadlokd. He came up Nazgul. At this point I trust my Ring views more than slim's now that they diverge. But I'm still not 100% on either of them, frankly. But whoever is Nazgul, they now know I hold the Ring. However, if they kill me I'll have had a chance to pass it, if I choose to do so. I'm not telling what I plan to do, just in case the Shire survives this day.

I was waiting to see how Deadlokd and Gonzo interacted at daybreak. I didn't see anything useful, unfortunately, but I still think they're our potential scum team.


*By the way, I think what Demi was talking about regarding Mega not reading the PM properly was the part about Nazgul seeing you when you view them. I don't get that impression; I think the only time they see you is when you use the Ring three times. Which is academic at this point. What is different from how slim views is that the Ring reveals the actual role rather than Nazgul/Not Nazgul. I assume if I'd viewed one of the specials I would have gotten the name (Gandalf, etc). I don't think I would get win conditions, alignment, yadda, just role name.

I can see investigating Nightson he seemed suspicious to lots of people, but why me and deadlokd?

You, bey, because after failing to spot a Nazgul, I wised up and looked for a Hobbit to pass the Ring to. Nothing about your play seemed special to me, so I suspected you of Hobbit, and that's what you turned out to be. For a bit of meta, you always act more paranoid when you're town. That's been you all over this game.

As for last night, I decided to switch gears again and go back to hunting for Nazgul. Slim is either completely confirmed or is playing the deepest game I've ever seen, and Demi never would have given me the Ring if she were Nazgul. That left Deadlokd and Gonzo, and frankly, Deadlokd is playing better of the two. After CP turned out to be Hobbit, I decided to go for the more active player rather than the less active.

This suddenly got really interesting, so much so that I just went back and checked my role PM again, just to make sure I hadn't misread it. But no, in two lines it told me I was a Hobbit. Someone is fucking views up here. Either there's some kind of magic on me or, I don't know what.

My first instinct was to vote Sock, but I wondered if someone is fucking with him or me. And just now typing this I'm wondering about Sock and bey. That was a beautiful little two step they just did.

I was going to vote for Sock but then I realised that that would give the ring to slim who would then be killed by Sock.....nevermind. As long as I'm sure about these two then we're fine. But then I was sure about CP too.

It seems like we should just vote DeadL and this game is nearly over.

It's possible that Sock is scum and is just making all this up, we have no idea who Demi gave the ring to (cheers Demi) and scum could have waited until that person was dead to come forward and claim they have the ring (which they would at that point).

I'm going to hold off on my vote for a little while.

Btw Gonzo, Sock basically just called you scum as well. Anything to say?

Adam, in the case of no surviving nazgul if a nonhobbit has the ring can they just pass it during the night phase and thus game win or does a hobbit have to have it in their hands at lynch?

What I would really like to know is why slim is still alive. By conventional mafia wisdom, he should have been killed night before last. Now, maybe the first time, the scum just decided to take a gamble that they wouldn't be viewed. But not killing him last night? That can't be a simple gamble. By the numbers, if there are two scum, it's insane. I don't think the flimsy amount of doubt we have had in slim's reads can be the only reason. So I think it's highly likely that they have some control over his reads. I'm more confident in my read now than before. I think slim is alive because the Nazgul feel safe from him -- and the safest they could be is by already having been read and cleared.

But I'm still not ready to vote. I want to see what Gonzo has to say.

There's just enough doubt in slim's views to throw some suspicion on me. bey coming out at daybreak and accusing me of influencing him to vote for CP.

I was explaining my reasoning behind each view. If you bothered to read my many posts on the subject of the Ring, I often stressed the importance of finding safe passage for the Ring. Errm, no. You make it sound like I was supposed to close my eyes and throw a dart. I had a specific reason to find a Hobbit, so that's what I was looking for. In fact, I was even worried about passing to a good special, because from the wording about the Hobbit being able to hold the ring without "immediately" succumbing to its power, I thought the Ring would corrupt a special. Now Adem says the special can pass the Ring, which was not apparent before.

Demi's been in bey's face the whole game, and vice-versa. It's what they do. I think Demi was killed to make it more difficult for the Ringbearer.

This is what really interests me, in a game where we have a confirmed wrong view, Sock could be mistaken, his views could be fucked with the way we know that Slim's view of Kael was, but you know he is lying?

That isn't logical, it is possible that gonzo and I are a nazgul team with view fixing powers and switched from fucking with slim's views to socks.

But that doesn't enter your head, rather you pass your vote around between me and sock because slim is clear and gonzo is your scum ally.


and dl, when I switched off of demi, I said at the time that I hold on to shit too much and it can be detrimental, yeah I can be bullish, but I think that can really hurt the town.

On the other hand I was suspicious of you and should have pushed for your lynch over cp or gonzo.
