I did that, too, when TLM was in daycare and coming home with strep every other week. But they were like dog or horse antibiotics.
I have a pretty good socialized healthcare story, though: I am changing my insurance, and the plan I chose does not include pediatric dental benefits as required by the ACA. I guess every state has different readings of how to deal with that part. Colorado's solution is that if you have no minor children to receive the benefits, you are required to get a separate policy for a state mandated maximum price of $1.50 a month for a no benefit policy, but there are also no benefit policies for $0.00 a month. There were three choices of those, and I picked the one from the insurance company I'm switching to.
