I don't think Adira Tal is distinct enough from Ezri Dax to be interesting. A nervous young genius with a pixie haircut, unqualified and unprepared to be joined, just trying to figure shit out and do their best. It's been done, and it wasn't that interesting the first time.

Also, why did Michael need to go with them down into the soup? Stay in your lane, Burn. It's not all about you.

Oh, finally also, are we all agreed that The Burn will have been caused by Michael, most likely paradoxically while trying to prevent it?

I've seen that theory and I agree with it. They call it The Burn because "caused by Burnham". Not sure I'm down with that. Like you say, it's not (or shouldn't be) all about her.

Ugh, I haven’t seen the new season but I was getting tired of it being the Michael Burnham show, staring Michael, with problems caused by Michael, fret over by Michael and solved by Michael. Also staring her friends to kill and torture, to add depth to Michael.

In Stargate the vast majority of earth ending threats were indirectly caused by SG-1’s exploration of the galaxy or choices the team made, but it never felt like they were better off if they hadn’t stepped through the gate. Here it’s like “omg Michael, for the sake of everyone, just stay home, sit this one out, the universe can’t take much more of this!”

Hmm. This noun needs an adjective.

The ____ protagonist.

The antagonistic protagonist?

You may have seen the tiny 3d printed boat but have you seen a tiny printed voyager?
This voyager can even move! The project is about how shape effects catalytic propulsion and each of these items are coated in whole or part with platinum, which when placed in 10% hydrogen peroxide catalyzes the peroxide to propel the little thing around. Benchy the boat and Fantastic Voyager were made to test how varried they could make the potential micro objects.

Also, this: TREKKIES CAN THANK HERB SOLOW FOR THE MOST FAMOUS STAR TREK PLOT DEVICE

Quote:
Ever wonder where the idea for the Captain's Log came from? Yep, that was Herb Solow, trying to hammer out a practical way to structure individual episodes of the classic Star Trek.
