Bing Chat just sounds like somebody on the spectrum... which is probably a reflection of who programmed it.

Re: ChatGPT
Indeed, I’m worried this is going to be another block chain where software engineers are so excited over the thing they made that they try to apply it, in its current form, to everything as if it’s going to fix all the problems.
Although I seem to be on the more skeptical side, these are all amusing parlor tricks that *could* revolutionize things, most of what I know in photoshop should hopefully be coming to your computer in less than a decade, tricks like relighting an entire scene, or dropping someone in and matching them to the rest of the image, will be but a few button pushes. Old photo touchup will become one click automatic. Etc.
I know someone on facebook that keeps posting AI generated art, and besides the occasional amusement of seeing a goofy mashup, they are all technically pretty (until you look closer) and completely devoid on any feeling, any ‘soul’ any understanding of why such an image should be made, I tire at looking at them, they feel like pretty visual noise.
Because of course they don’t actually know why they made something besides that their network said that nudging the pixels in one direction or another was the highest weighed option.
There’s potential for some powerful tools, and I worry we’re going to get trapped by our own reflection, ever more conversing with a mirror thinking it’s alive and really into us.

I keep seeing ads on TikTok for something called "Replica" which is an AI "friend", and one of my first thoughts (after "I want one") was that the thing will provide support and encouragement to its owner even if the thoughts/feelings being shared are potentially harmful. Maybe they have built in some morality but that brings up issues of its own.

They're also the cherry picked results from a set containing a lot of duds.
Also, they have too many teeth and fingers.

Re: ChatGPT
Don't confuse "okay to be white" with "okay to be a bigot".
It's almost like these "okay to be white" people have never known a black person.
When I was young I had not been exposed to many black people. I even had a Confederate flag hanging in my dorm room window, and was confronted about it by many people of color, but they weren't hateful. My first day in the Army this white drill sergeant yells at me about moving somewhere, and I was locked up with fear, so this black guy next to me gave me a little nudge. The sergeant starts screaming at him about assaulting me and starts telling me I need to press charges and he's summoning the MPs. The black guy starts to cry. I refused to press charges even with the drill screaming right in my face. For the next 8 weeks, the black guys in my unit took VERY good care of me, to fuck with me you had to fuck with them first. That's where I learned that their problem wasn't with us being white, it was with us being assholes about it.

Re: ChatGPT
Frankly, it’s okay to be white is a grotesque understatement.
Just ok would be a giant step down compared to the reality of white privilege. In America it’s better to be white.
I understand that’s not how the statement is meant, but the question is based on a fever dream of prejudice or bigotry against white people.

That is why context matters. I know what you are saying, but if somebody took that out of context, and that's all they know of you, you sound so very very racist.

Re: ChatGPT
So, without sufficient context, one thing can be made to look like another, very different, thing? Damn right! Now ask yourself, how much context was provided in the comic strip you shared that tried to make Dilbert Adams out to be the poor victim of something?

Knowing the context of the Scott Adams story, the comic is funny. I don't see it trying to make him look like a racists, in fact, that is the point of the meme.
There isn't anything that one can say that won't be labeled racist.
Because the woke can't understand this, and never will, that is what makes it funny.

Who does? Good lord, man, everything you're saying just shows how little you understand about anything.
There isn't anything that someone who is racist can do to hide the fact they're racist. No matter how hard they try to stay under the radar, sooner or later they will give themselves away.
