Oh, lord.....
1. Consulting gig ended in April.
2. Doing school this summer - (1) Managerial Accounting and (2) Internet Technologies for Business. If I survive the 1st one, the 2nd one will be cake.
3. Wondering when the job market will pick up.......sigh

Re: What's up with you?
Laying low, work-wise. It's been real slow. I'm trying to get organized, I have about a bajillion CD's and DVD's with client files on them. I am afraid to throw anything out, because that one disk will be the one with something that the client I haven't heard from in 8 years will need next week.
Every few days Bridget horks up a monster hairball, preceded by her last two meals and a pint of water.
Having a big dangerous tree removed on Wednesday. Expensive!! I also need some pines and cedars limbed up, but I also need new gutters, so I've borrowed a saw on a stick and a rope chain and will try to do it myself, a couple limbs a day until I'm done. Check in on me now & then, will ya?
I think I saw termites in a tree out front and I'm worried about that.

Keep in mind you only have four limbs. Unless you're from Alabama.

Re: What's up with you?
Had a debilitating series of anxiety attacks. Somehow made it through exams and a final assignment anyway. Started medication. Took up swimming. Doing volunteer data entry in the herbarium. Had my ears cleaned and can hear again. Had a dental checkup and was told I need a wisdom tooth extracted. Quit smoking (again). Quit coffee and booze until I'm more chilled out too, it's like I'm a fucking monk or something but without the serene holiness. Music's progressing well though, gearing up for a gig in 3 weeks time.

Re: What's up with you?
I had a very San Francisco weekend.
Friday went to trans march, a march for trans-gender rights. Which was awesome, lots of hot freaks dancing and marching. We marched through the Mission district (where some voted yes on Prop 8) and they made the mistake of not looping around to the park where it started. So a few crazy people with speakers, redbull and vodka took an intersection not on the parade route and led an hour long dance parade clogging the streets and turning at random intersections. The cops were nice and just let us have fun.
Saturday went to my girlfriends highschool reunion where she got to show people up by arriving with pink hair and a boyfriend on each arm (one with purpleish blue hair and me with blue teal hair).
Sunday was SF LGBT pride. Got up at 7 so we could take stuff to the staging area, my friend was the organizer for the Bi and poly contingents. I tried to stay out of the mess that is getting stuff organized. Danced down Market street to techno with a nice group of cute guys and girls. Did my contingent monitor duties, which basically means I walk next to one of the wheels and make sure no one ends up under it.
Walking down market street with tons of people lined up on the sides is a rush. I highly recommend it. SF convinces people to do all kinds of things, like a group from Santa Cruz who weren't sure if they were going to make it out to watch pride and ended up shaking their asses on the back of our truck. Or if you are a women I hear it's possible to go to the dykes on bikes, and stand around till you end up on the back of someone's bike.

Re: What's up with you?
If my financial situation continues to improve like this I will be able to pay (pun intended) a visit to my brother's girlfriend who lives between San Antonio and Austin in New Braunfels. My sister keeps nagging me to go with her.

Re: What's up with you?
Aw, Sock. Don't feel all left out and shit. If you'll remember last year's Vegas trip, I never showed any interest in visiting until one of our 'cross-the-pond folks decided to be there.
Uh, wait ... that makes me sound like I'm bigoted against my own countrymen, doesn't it?

Re: What's up with you?
I won a case today at a hearing. Unfortunately, it was also what you could call a learning experience. Much of the learning was centered on not falling out of your chair, throwing up, or saying WTF out loud when it appears that your nice argument has just been decimated and you are being observed by the lead partner.

Re: What's up with you?
I just moved to a new place.
The good:
-Can walk most places
-Low energy bills
-Neighborhood is much classier than I am, and is by far the nicest I've ever lived in
-Forest view
The bad:
-EXPENSIVE
-Bad parking
-Limited natural light

Yeah, but it took a whole lot of climbing just to get up that hill.
Just sayin'.

There's some sort of subtext there, but I'll be damned if I know what it is.

Re: What's up with you?
I ratcheted up the suck this morning. I now have to wear a rubber band with my braces (and eventually two rubber bands).
And I was the oldest patient at the ortho again this morning, which never makes me feel good. I like when there are other post-school-age people there with me.

Re: What's up with you?
godfuckingDAMNit!
Tree guys came today and took out the big dangerous tree(s), some smaller ones and cut some limbs away from the power lines.
Oh, and ran over some back deck stairs with their megaton bucket truck and ran over the area next to the house where the drain from the septic tank goes to the drainfield.
And the job still cost almost $1,000. And that was without having them do some of the other stuff I need done because I couldn't afford it.
I have to buy a pole saw to limb up the stupid trees along my stupid driveway. Fuck.
