Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
It's still not obvious at this point who the spies are. All statements can still be interpreted as truth or deception. It's a total crap shoot. Who is suspicious of who and why? It's interesting that Adam wanted to send Jerome and Gonzo on the first mission? Why would he pick those two, all the way down at the end of the roster?

This sounds like a very not spy like thing to say.

There might be something in this exchange too. It shows what might be a genuine motive on Gonzo's part. Jerome is pretty insistent in a lot of his posts, but that is way in general as well, so hard to read much into it.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
Jerry is scum.
I think Adam is ademesque and Kael is Kaelesque. However this ademesque seems trustable and this Kaelesque seem untrustable. Sr71 is okay with me.
Let's lynch kael and jerome.

You'd think it would be bloody obvious who at least one of the spies are at this point, but it's not. Do the yes no votes on that last mission indicate anything?

Here's my thing, though.
We need to send three people on this mission. Assuming you are not a spy, that means yourself plus two others is your safe bet.
If you don't want to send either G and J, then you have to send SR71 and me.
If you don't find it likely that both Gonzo and JEROME are spies, that means you do find it likely that either SR71 or myself are spies. So, you're in a position where you're arguing that you think we should send someone you think is likely to be a spy.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
To expand a bit, I'm in the same boat. I know I'm clean, and I don't think it's likely that both G and J are spies, but I don't know which one, and that also means that one of K and S are.
I guess the key variable here is how confident are we that both of them are not spies? 50%? 75%? 90%?

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
My second problem is, if I had to pick between the two of them I would say JEROME was the spy. A lot of that is just that I don't trust him, though. I realize that unless they're both spies, which is possible but unlikely, then the second spy is among the three of us. Trouble with that is, if I had to guess among the three of us for the spy, I'd pick Adam (yes, I know that would mean that both spies went on Mission 2 but only one voted to fail it) over SR71, if only by a little.
So yeah, I voted "no" on a proposal that had the two people I currently find most suspicious on the roster.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
The chance we are both spies (two random players picked to start the game) is a 20% probability. If I were looking from the outside (I obviously know what I am) I would say a 10% chance that both are spies.

Re: The Resistance - Game Thread
If Kael was the spy that is not one of Jerome or Gonzo, he would have wanted to go. It would take some fairly complicated reasoning to turn down a chance to fail a mission, since he would only have to get through the gate once. I'm good with Kael. I have the idea, at a naive level, that that vote right there does tell us a lot.
