Whoever Paul Taylor is, I don’t know, but Paul Stanley, he has some opinions on trans gender issues based on the news he watches, and one line really stands out to me,
That’s it, that’s it right there, pronouns = sex. They aren’t about how someone feels inside they are about presenting themselves as someone fuckable or not-fuckable. These adults don’t care about the children, they care that these children are messing with the system they use to decide if they should listen to someone or imagine fucking them.
My cousin and I were having a conversation, recently, along similar lines. We both have grandkids that are wrestling with some "identity" issues, lately.
And when we were young, and living in New Orleans, I remember some acquaintences who were playing with "Flexibility in personal and sexual Identity."
Most of them, with whom we had maintained some connection alll turned out fairly stable.
We have encouraged our kids to not entertain any surgical solutions for such notions. Let the kids figure out who they want to be and grow up before going there.

Polynesians have versions of this all throughout the Pacific. It's also the only thing that really ever made sense for me personally, the homebody non-competitive dude who casually cross dresses and likes to groom nicely. No surgery required.
So many different ways to be a human.

I've seen hints of young folks leaning in that direction in some countries, including the US. A social evolution in the works, perhaps?

Every trans-person I know wishes they did it earlier. Tough call where kids are concerned, I agree.
Yeah, it is. The permanence of such decisions seem to suggest not making them while in the throws of adolescence.
Taking no action at all also results in permanent effects, that's the part that sucks.
True, Nothing at all seldom works at solving a problem. That's why we talk.
If I understand correctly, puberty blockers are fairly safe and you can stop taking them to start puberty again. It's as reversible a decision as you can make. (Talk to your doctor, as I'm definitely not one.)

Well, my grandkids are all beyond that question, now. a couple of them are in the realm of "Identity changes" and the one, I told her I'd always call her or him Sam.

A fun grandpa thing to say but if one were to say “but seriously, please call me (other name)” and you don’t, or continue joking, the message they hear is they can’t talk to you.
I speak from first had experience here. My mother will go to her grave not really knowing any of her kids because of her long history of just not taking anything we say seriously. She also can’t stop belittling, but I just don’t get that kind of energy from you. Have a on me.

A good thing to buy time and get some medical professionals involved.
Or just fail to take the kid seriously and deal with the consequences of the kid bottling everything up later.

But don't wait too long. The window of opportunity for pubertal development does close at some point. Missing out on normal puberty might mean missing out on some critical milestones to achieving full adulthood.

Not to mention that they have now joined the list of things the Texas Legislature is working to outlaw. I image that a few other reactionary lawslackers will follow suit.

Anything that makes so many stupid people mad is probably a worthwhile endeavor.

How many athletes out there are willing to take estrogen and testosterone-blocker injections for multiple years (which affects muscle tone, you don't take those hormones for years and perform exactly as before) just because they want to win a few college competitions? Are there some benefits I'm missing? Did Lia Thomas get millions in sponsorship money, because after the Dylan Mulvaney debacle I doubt that'll be coming anytime soon.
Oh, and in addition to taking hormones for years, you're going to get constantly criticized, often in national media, and also endure the regular sorts of discrimination that trans women face in other areas of life.
I mean, it seems like an easy way to win fame, glory and riches as long as you don't think about it for more than a couple seconds/aren't a drooling idiot like FX and Miss Shelby.
World Athletics Council, the governing body for international track and field, will bar transgender women athletes from elite competitions for women.
The council's policy, which will be in effect starting March 31, largely targets athletes who transitioned from male to female after going through puberty as a male. It will also tighten rules for athletes with disorders of sexual development, cutting in half the level of testosterone athletes can have in order to compete in women's events.

You can also be damn sure the Olympic commitee isn't going to have men competing against women.

Literally trillions, erimir. Just ask Vaxxy the Clown; he'll tell ya.
