It’s made 125 million in three weeks, and conservatives are crowing victory (which is hilarious as Barbie made 155 million in its opening weekend.

Anyway, it’s Qanon inspired nonsense.

A big part of its success is an appeal from its star, Jim Caviezel, who comes on screen at the end urging viewers to buy more tickets so other people can see it and help end child trafficking. It's a model distributor Angel Studios calls "pay it forward."

Caviezel, who previously played Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, is also drawing attention to the film in other ways. For years, he's been a prominent promoter of the false, violent QAnon conspiracy theory — specifically, the baseless claim that an international cabal of elites is abusing and killing children to extract a substance called adrenochrome.

This accounted for $2.6 million of Sound of Freedom’s $14.2 million July 4 opening, IndieWire reported. Some social media users and media outlets, however, have reported some theater screenings indicate all tickets have been reserved while few people show up to see the film. The Guardian investigated Times Square screenings, finding that one 3 p.m. showtime indicated 28 seats went unsold, according to Fandango, but 45 seats in total were left vacant.

Several of my sisters went to see Sound of Freedom during a daytime matinee not long after it opened and asked if I wanted to go too. I hadn't heard of the movie, but it was described as a "based on a true story" docudrama about children trafficked for sex and that just didn't sound like a good time to me. None of my siblings are into Trump, much less Qanon, but they are all mothers and a couple of them are devout Catholics. I didn't hear about the Qanon connection until after they went to see it, and I haven't had a chance to talk to them about it yet but I will. I'm really curious where they heard about it and what they thought about it, and what they make of the Qanon connection.

I think the save the children aspect of Qanon is particularly pernicious.

My nephew Taylor is pretty anti-racist and anti-Magat, and I’ve seen him previously share save the children nonsense.

I’ve seen memes and posts about killing pedophiles to protect children and then separately ones about how the Democrats (and Hollywood elites)are all in league with pedophiles.

The more I read about Tim Ballard (of Sound of Freedom) the more the alarm bells go off, will we eventually found out he’s a wife abuser, child molester or cult leader that murder suicides his family, I’m not sure but my bet is on at least one of those.

A narcissist leading raids to save the children in poor non-white countries just smacks of over compensation, especially when he then adopts two of those children, just like qanon being run by pedophiles while also fighting the alleged vast pedophile conspiracy.
