Hi Lees! Too bad you didn't make the trip before I left.
California Pizza Kitchen at Mirage. We spent out first anniversary at The Mirage and loved CPK, it became our fave place to take friends and family
I loved all the Cirque shows, but O was my fave
As a first timer you have to walk the Strip. Walk across the street from the MGM and start at Luxor, go in to each hotel up that side all the way to the corner where Bally's is. They should still run a monorail from Bally's back to the MGM if you're tired. Save the other side of the street for another day.
Go to the Fremont Street Experience and see the light show and visit all the old Vegas hotels. They are a dark and dreary contrast to the Strip in many cases. Eat at Hugo's Cellar in the basement of the 4 Queens or the yummy steakhouse at California
Go off the strip to The Rio and watch the Carnival sky parade
Have drinks at The Mermaid Lounge at the Silverton (off strip)
Do the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton and have drinks or eat at Quark's
You and I could hook up for a bit while she's hanging with them.
Unless you are a-feared of me.
I'm not a-scareded at all!

Okay if I came (and I'd have to check with Widget and work)
I would arrive Friday July 4 at 10:00am and then leave on Sunday at Noon.
Lees, I know you are there with friends I wouldn't want to screw you up at all, but it would be great to get together for dinner etc.. on the Friday night or the Saturday night.
Sharon, I was just going to visit some hotels to check them out (ie) Venetian, Bellagio... I would love company if that's what you would like to do too.
Remember girls... what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

I'm tentatively planning to arrive Thursday night, July 3 and head home Saturday morning. I hope to stay at the MGM Grand, too, so Leesifer will be easier to hook up with.

Sounds good to me! What will we be looking at/for?

Yay! I love stories of weirdos from teh internets meeting up in real life. (Well, usually. Unless it involves 14 year old girls, dirty old geezers and MySpace). I love Vegas, too. Beware, though...I gambled away like $1.50 there and still haven't heard the end of it.
I loved just exploring the various hotels. The Star Trek Experience and Quark's would have been much cooler if I had gone with someone who knew what a Klingon was, though.
I couldn't talk the boy into Thunder from Down Under for some reason, so we settled on Penn and Teller. It was amazing.
(I started to doze off at the end just when they were about to shoot at one another and catch the bullets in their teeth...but I was really, really freaking tired! I still haven't heard the end of that one, either. )
I was really torn between that and a Cirque de Soleil show, but hopefully there will be a next time.
Anyway, have a good time! If any of you meet the skunk, remember to bring a clothespin. You'll be in for a looooooong weekend.
Oh, and ignore Legsy on the whole, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." We'll need details. DETAILS!
Sharon, have you been to Vegas before? You could spend days just visiting hotels to check them out, one is more fabulous than the next
I don't even know how to start to explain what it's like, last time I was there for a week and I didn't get to all the places I wanted to see and now it's just so much bigger and better.
One thing for sure I want to do is have a gondola ride at the venetian.

No, I've never been to Las Vegas, but I've wanted to go for a long time. Looking at hotels sounds like a cheaper activity than, for instance, finally getting to see Penn & Teller, which I have also long wanted to do.

Oh, man. It sounds like two nights won't be enough! Maybe I should at least plan to stay until Sunday ...

I'm-a stay until Sunday now! Back to vacation package shopping for me ...

I'm arriving Thurs July 3 at 11:15am
Woo-hoo! Then you'll be there to greet me when I get in. Drinks are on me!

Sharon, if you could come in the 3rd too we could have a full day of fun before the skunk arrives.
I wish I could do that, Legs. But my scheduled vacation is two weeks after this trip and I'm going to Vegas on free time The Kumpnee has given me for Independence Day. The office closes at 3:00 on the 3rd and I'll go from there to the airport.

Leesifer you think you and your friends will be up for dinner on the 4th? or should we make it the 5th? Any ideas on where you might like to eat?
Yeah, Leesifer. We're doing all this to meet you, ya know! Get with the program and give us your program.
