Guess: haste
For the record, I would argue against Bible verses, but not books of the Bible, but

Re: Codenames
I conjured that clue out of the great red nowhere and I was granted permission, and considering Jerome used a board word, I have no regrets at all.
Haste is red.
Play or pass.

Re: Codenames
Guess: Space
We still have one guess for the basketball thing that we got wrong, plus two for 2001, so the countertop clue only has to give us 2 words.
No point in passing now. Keep guessing till we win, lose or miss.

Space is the KILL WORD.
Blue team has lost.
Now you see why I was so pissed off and barely restrained myself from posting something nasty. Jerome put THE GOD DAMN KILL WORD in his clue and doing so, steered you away from it. I have more to say but I have to make some fucking coffee.

HERE is a fucking example. This steered people away from THE FUCKING KILL WORD because Jerome used it in his clue.

Re: Codenames
I do not like that grid. Too many too closely related words.

*deep breath* Alright. I'm ok now. Sorry but damn, I've had that one building up for a good 4 or 5 days now.

It was a very difficult grid, that was the point. I only even got away with Exodus 12:11 because it was compensation for Jerome using Space to drive you all away from the kill word.

Re: Codenames
How are we generating these grids anyway?
Apparently the boardgame comes with a deck, presumably there is some balancing of words in it that prevents it from having really odd words or too many words in the same semantic space...

Re: Codenames
Quartz was our remaining word and had I been given that last turn, I'd have used Crystal: 1 for the win. Kael taking Gravity off the board was the greatest gift I could have imagined, because it was probably the most difficult word on the entire board to make a clue for.

There is a list of words to use - which I used for Rounds I, II, & III. but you can pick and choose as you like - they are not distributed for you in a balance way.
The IV round - I just put in my own words to make it more challenging.

Re: Codenames
I got the list of words from what they use at BoardGameGeek for their online games. It is a longer list than what is on the game cards.

Re: Codenames
Eh, a lot of it was luck, I have to admit. I was able to line up some words really well but I have to say the star of the entire show was Erimir with his amazing clues.
